Beetroot Powder vs Beet Juice
Beetroot powder vs beet juice comes down to this: beet juice is the liquid pressed out of the root with the pulp left behind, while our beetroot powder is the whole root, air-dried and milled, so it keeps the fibre, lives in the pantry and costs from $0.44 a serve.

What is in each
Beet juice starts with pressing. The liquid comes out and the pulp, which holds most of the fibre, stays behind. What you drink is the juice of the root, not the whole vegetable.
Our powder skips the press. Whole beetroots are sliced, slowly air-dried and milled, and the only ingredient is beetroot. Our nutrition panel shows 20 g of dietary fibre per 100 g, or 1.0 g in every 5 g serve. If you are weighing up a dried juice instead, that is a different product again: see beetroot juice powder vs whole beetroot powder.
Is beetroot powder better than beet juice for everyday use?
For most kitchens, the powder is the easier habit. There is no juicer to clean, no bottle taking up fridge space and nothing to use up before it turns. A teaspoon goes into whatever you are already having: water, juice, a smoothie, yoghurt or porridge. If you enjoy a glass of fresh juice and have a juicer you like using, juice is a fine choice. They are simply different forms of the same vegetable.
Serve size and convenience
Our label serve is one rounded teaspoon, about 5 g. Stir it into a glass of water for a quick beetroot drink, or blend it into a smoothie so the fibre stays suspended. It is earthy and gently sweet, like roast beetroot. A jar slips into a bag or a desk drawer, which a bottle of juice does not. More on amounts in how much beetroot powder per day.
Storage and shelf life
Keep the powder in a cool, dry place below 25°C with the lid tight. Beetroot powder draws moisture from the air, which can make it clump, so each jar has a silica gel sachet inside: do not eat it, and keep it away from children. Juice is a liquid, so follow the storage and use-by directions on the bottle, and keep fresh juice cold like any other fresh food.
Cost per serve
Every 250 g jar holds 50 serves of 5 g, so the maths is simple. A single jar is $28.10, or $0.56 a serve, and a 4 pack brings it down to $0.44 a serve. To compare juice fairly, divide the price of the bottle by the number of glasses you get from it.
| Pack | Price | Serves | Per serve |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single jar | $28.10 | 50 | $0.56 |
| 2 pack | $49.95 | 100 | $0.50 |
| 3 pack | $70.95 | 150 | $0.47 |
| 4 pack | $88.95 | 200 | $0.44 |
Questions about powder and juice
Can I make beet juice from beetroot powder?
You can make a beetroot drink. Stir one rounded teaspoon (5 g) into a glass of water or juice, or shake it in a bottle. Because it is the whole root, the fibre stays in, so it is thicker than pressed juice and needs a stir if it sits.
Does beetroot powder need to go in the fridge?
No. Keep the lid tight and store it below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Each jar has a silica gel sachet to keep moisture out: do not eat it.
Is beetroot powder the same as beetroot juice powder?
No. Ours is the whole root, dried and milled. Juice powder is pressed juice that has been dried, often onto a carrier. See beetroot juice powder vs whole powder.
